Shekinah are delighted to announce the extension of its Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment contract for an additional 12 months to March 2026. This renewal reaffirms the organisation’s commitment to supporting individuals currently in supported treatment for either drugs or alcohol, enabling them to access meaningful employment opportunities.

The IPS programme is designed to assist with personalised support to help them secure and retain employment that aligns with their skills and aspirations. The contract extension reflects the programme’s success in transforming lives and empowering participants to reach their potential.

Over the past year, the IPS team at Shekinah has achieved remarkable outcomes, including:

  • Helping individuals secure jobs across various sectors, tailored to their interests and abilities.
  • Building strong partnerships with local employers, ensuring a wide range of vacancies are on offer to individuals.
  • Providing ongoing support to both employees and employers to foster long-term success.

Through tailored support and partnerships, we are proud to announce that 55 individuals have successfully transitioned back into employment.

Shekinah’s IPS team are dedicated to addressing barriers to employment have been central to these achievements. This extension will enable the team to continue their vital work, supporting even more individuals on their journey through recovery to find employment.
