From officers’ wives assisting them with female prisoners in the 19th century more modern policing methods involving women were essential. \nInitially\, an unwelcomed voluntary group of former suffragettes\, they eventually created the modern female police officers of today. \nSimon’s talk charts the history and creation of the women who took the role of police officers from the middle ages to the current day.
