Shekinah Grow is a therapeutic land-based service, set in the outskirts of Paignton. Shekinah Grow sits within the rolling hills of the valley, nestled next to Occombe Valley Woodland. We offer a space for individuals to connect with nature, learn new skills, and sometimes, just be. We encourage individuals through structured programmes to gain and retain hope, to understand abilities and disabilities, to engage in an active life, gain personal autonomy, social identity, to have meaning and purpose in life, and a positive sense of self. We are proactive in offering a structured approach to enhance the 5 areas of wellbeing, that is to connect, be active, take notice, learn and to give. This is actively facilitated through working the land and wildlife initiatives, we balance practical, creative, and theoretical activities to engage individuals with the holistic benefits of being in nature and learning about our wild world using the natural resources available to us.
We offer Learning Exchange activities which are currently free to access, courses can be found by clicking this link Learning Exchange prospectus

Over the past few months, our volunteers have been nothing short of incredible, each one contributing in unique and essential ways to the transformation of our Grow site. Through their hard work, dedication, and unwavering passion, we are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Level 5 Outstanding rating by Britain in Bloom as part of the RHS Southwest in Bloom awards. This prestigious recognition from the Royal Horticultural Society is a true testament to the collective efforts of everyone involved. We are overjoyed, deeply honoured, and profoundly grateful for each individual who has been part of Growing Grow.
This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable partnership working between Shekinah and the Jatis Project in Torbay. Working together, we’ve been able to nurture not only a thriving garden but also a space where community and connection flourish. Our volunteers from all walks of life have come together to shape this site, pouring in countless hours to cultivate a vibrant, resilient garden that is truly the pride of our community.
From planting and pruning to designing sustainable layouts and creating a sanctuary for local wildlife, every bit of progress on our Grow site has been fuelled by the dedication of our team. The green spaces we’ve created are not just visually beautiful but also serve as a vital resource for everyone in the community, supporting both physical and mental well-being. Through the challenges and the triumphs, each volunteer has brought something irreplaceable, helping turn a vision into a blooming, award-winning reality.
