We support people experiencing homelessness with practical help like meals, showers, and accommodation advice, alongside guidance on health, wellbeing, and employment.

Prior to 1915 there were no women in the police service officially but with the arrival of the Great War 1914-1918 things were to change. From officers’ wives assisting them with female prisoners in the 19th century more modern policing methods involving women were essential.
Initially, an unwelcomed voluntary group of former suffragettes, they eventually created the modern female police officers of today.
Simon’s talk charts the history and creation of the women who took the role of police officers from the middle ages to the current day.
